MARRAKESH HOUSE

Located on a hillside adjacent to California’s newest State Park, the Baldwin Hills Scenic Overlook in Culver City, Marrakesh House is one of the most environmentally friendly remodels in Southern California. Documentary filmmaker Chris Paine, director of the acclaimed film Who Killed the Electric Car? purchased the home in 2007 with the aim to transform the original Mid 20th Century Modern home into a model for sustainable living in the 21st century. In the process, Paine has also created a private residence that doubles as venue for art, music and culture in the surrounding community.

The Greenstation’s involvement includes certification of the wonderful people responsible for maintaining the the beautiful property and providing eco- friendly equipment. The Greenstation is proud to be associated with Chris Paine and everyone associated with Marrakesh House.

PACIFIC LODGE BOY’S HOME

Founded in 1923, Pacific Lodge Boys' Home provides a therapeutic residential treatment program for boys ages 13 to 17. On a lushly landscaped 10-acre campus in the San Fernando Valley, boys receive 24-hour treatment for psychological, emotional or behavioral problems and learn how to build more productive lives. The Greenstation is exceptionally proud to be involved with this organization, helping young men build self respect and feelings of accomplishment through compassion and hard work.

The Greenstation helps by teaching the arts of eco-friendly property maintenance, sustainable farming and vegetable gardening. Tutoring and mentoring are on-going and as an added bonus, they get to eat the fruits of their own labors.
